FESTA DELLA MADONNA DEL BUONCAMMINO
E' la festa più popolare in città e si svolge in tre momenti. Nella prima Domenica dopo ferragosto giunge in città, proveniente dal Santuario del Buoncammino, la statua della Madonna, posta su un carro pieno di bambini, trainato da grossi buoi e preceduto da un corteo di cavalieri a cavallo e palafrenieri, vestiti in abiti tradizionali.
Famosa l'asta della bandiera che viene aggiudicata al maggior offerente. Il secondo Sabato di Settembre, l'effigia viene portata in processione per le vie illuminate della città su un carro trionfale. La festa si conclude con fuochi pirotecnici più sommesso è il ritorno dell'immagine sacra della Vergine al santuario, la Domenica successiva ai festeggiamenti è accompagnata da numerosi devoti.
THE CELEBRATION OF THE
MADONNA OF BUONCAMMINO
The Madonna del Buoncammino's celebration is the most important and popular celebration in the town. On the first Sunday of August from the Sanctuary of the Buoncammino, situated in the suburb, the statue of the Madonna comes to town on a triumphal char full of children and flowers. The char is carried by big oxen and preceeded by a horse riders procession in traditional suits.
Particular is the auction sale of the flag, purchased by the best buyer. On the second Saturday of September the statue is carried through the main streets, lit for the event. The celebration ends with beautiful fireworks. On the next Sunday the statue is brought back to its shrine accompanied by lots of pilgrims.
